Small, high-quality development teams work closely with quant researchers, IT infrastructure, operations staff and business management to enhance the algorithmic trading platform and associated applications. These include tools for research, data management, simulation & back-testing, counterparty communication and monitoring.
To continue the current growth of the business, the development group is looking to expand. While each software team differs in their responsibilities, they share a common culture and similar technical requirements; as such they are looking to identify candidates to best fit the team once the first round of interviews are complete.
Roles
The firm views software development as part of its core business strategy. Software is developed primarily in C#. The key responsibilities of the roles are:
· Enhancing and supporting the existing trade technology platform and associated toolset.
· Designing and implementing high quality code to work with large data sets.
· Responding to the changing requirements of the business.
The roles are all technically challenging, and require an ability to rapidly adapt to new technologies such that the business’s technology advantage is maintained.
The nature of daily trading across global markets means that the candidate will be required to provide support for production issues, which can include occasional overnight calls shared in a rota with other team members.
Suitable Candidates
A candidate must be a strong, competent, and practical software developer. They should be enthusiastic and have a genuine interest in both software technology and the underlying hardware.
Required:
· Proven ability to develop high quality software. 1-3 years experience is suggested.
· Experience of at least one of C++, Java, or C#.
· Appreciation of good software architecture and core algorithms & data structures
· Excellent academics – good A-level results combined with a 2.1 or better from a top university in a computing-related or other numerate subject.
Financial experience may be useful but is not required. Candidates from non-financial backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
