The available role is for an experienced technical manager within the Asia Pacific Cash Equities IT Team to run the Middle Office programme. This regional team provides business solutions to the investment bank for the booking and allocation services of cash equities across Japan, Asia and Australia.
A strategic project to replace the existing middle office platform with a new system designed to handle the ongoing growth of the business. The successful applicant will be responsible for the design and delivery of the application. This is a key part of the Investment Bank strategy to improve business efficiency and STP capability and therefore extend the clients lead as the largest trader of cash equities securities in Asia.
Your job as head of the Middle Office development team will put you at the heart of a long term program to transform how the investment bank manages its cash equities business. Leading a team of highly skilled technology and business experts you will have the opportunity to drive the development and architectural design of the application to transform the functional and throughput capabilities of the Equities Middle Office business.

Requires strong client facing skills: excellent communication and experience of dealing with senior business and IT management
Have a proven track record of systems delivery in the Middle Office space. Requires a very good understanding of the booking and allocation process and how that fits into the overall front-to-back flows for the cash equities business
Strong technical skills, with an extensive development background using C++ and Unix including broad experience of functional and technical architecture design. Should have considerable database schema design and tuning experience, ideally with Sybase
Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Programme management experience, covering all aspects of budgeting, prioritization and delivery management through the full project lifecycle
